2008 Wurstfest Opening FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE NEW BRAUNFELS, TX – Just a quick drive down Interstate 35, a festival that is rich in German culture and full of family fun awaits you. The 48th Annual Wurstfest, which takes place Oct. 31-Nov. 9 along the banks of the beautiful Comal River in Landa Park in New Braunfels, is not far from where you are. The festival grounds, at 178 Landa Park Dr., are located at the entrance to Landa Park. Parking for Wurstfest is located across the street from the entrance to the grounds. For internet mapping to the Wurstfest grounds, the address is 120 Landa Street, New Braunfels, TX 78130. There is a fee for parking, and parking is limited. However, area motels, hotels and resort facilities may provide shuttles to and from Wurstfest. The Wurstfest Association of New Braunfels is a non-profit corporation whose purpose is to promote the local economy through tourism and promote and preserve the community’s rich German heritage. Proceeds from the event benefit a wide variety of projects. Admission to the Wurstfest grounds will be free from 4 to 7 p.m. on opening night, Oct. 31. After that, admission to the festival is $8 at the gate ($6 if bought by Thursday, Oct. 30); and children ages 12 and younger will be admitted free at all times. Admission is for the entire day. If you wish to leave the grounds and return later that same day, please be sure to have your hand stamped at the gate. Group rates, advance discounts and special weekday promotions are available. Monday, Nov. 3, is United Way Night. All proceeds from tickets bought at the gate on that night will go toward United Way.
