Sophienburg Museum & Archives – 401 West Coll Street – Open 10am-4pm daily Tuesdays through Saturdays during Wurstfest.  Museum relates the history through the display of artifacts and displays of early life in New Braunfels.  The Archives preserves the written history of the area through thousands of collections of personal and public documents.  Sophie’s Shop features German made Christmas items and is open year round.  Visit our beautiful booth at Wurstfest.  Admission:  Adults $5.00/Students $1.00.  For more information visit our website at www.sophienburg.org or call 830/629-1572.

New Braunfels Conservation Society Projects:
Tour of Conservation Plaza
- Open 10am-3pm daily/Sundays 12noon-3pm during Wurstfest - Located at 1300 Church Hill Drive.  Visit yesteryear at Conservation Plaza, a restored German village featuring 14 structures (circa 1849-1881) furnished in the period.  Admission:  Adults:  $2.50/Students (6-18):  $.50/Children under 6 free. 
Ferdinand Lindheimer Home
- Located at 491 Comal Avenue - Tours upon request.  Ferdinand Jakob Lindheimer (1801-1879) was the “Father of Texas Botany” and the newspaper editor of the Herald-Zeitung.  Lindheimer was the man most responsible for New Braunfels being located by the Comal Springs.  Admission:  Adults:  $2.50/Students:  $.50. 
Kaffee Haus
- Open 10:30am-2pm from November 3 through November 7 and located in Conservation Plaza at 1300 Churchill Drive.  Enjoy homemade German lunches and desserts. 
Buckhorn Barbershop Museum - Located at 521 West San Antonio Street - Tours upon request.  A “1900’s” equipped working barbershop containing literally hundreds of hand-carved miniature circus figures, old toys and pictures made from rocks.  Admission:  $1.50-Adults/$.50-Children.

Heritage Society of New Braunfels Projects - Heritage Village/Museum of Texas Handmade Furniture - Open 1pm-4pm daily during Wurstfest - Located at 1370 Church Hill Drive, adjacent to Conservation Plaza and features historic house museum and collection of 1800’s furniture crafted by German settlers.  Guided tours of historic 1858 Breustedt-Dillen house and collection of over 75 pieces of antique handcrafted furniture made by German cabinet makers.  Tour also features a cabinet shop, log cabin and summer kitchen.  Admission: $5.00-Adults/$4.00-Seniors/$1.00-Children (6-12years).  For more information on these projects visit our website at www.nbheritagevillage.com or call 830/629-6504.

“Raiders of the Lost Wurst” - Circle Arts Theatre located next door to the Wursthalle.  An old time melodrama where you get to cheer the hero as he looks for the “Lost Wurst” and then boo and throw popcorn at the villain as he plots his dastardly deeds.  Enjoy songs and games for the whole audience to get warmed up.  Admission:  $7.00 per person on Friday through Sunday/$5.00 per person on Monday through Thursday - children under 5 admitted free if accompanied by an adult.  For more information visit our website at www.circleartstheatre.org or for reservations call 830/620-4848.

Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church – Located at 386 North Castell Avenue.  Open 12 Noon-4pm daily October 31 through November 9 except Sundays 12:30pm-4pm during Wurstfest.    Visit the historic church established in 1845 in downtown New Braunfels and the church oak, one of the famous trees of Texas.  The self-guided tour is designed to allow visitors the opportunity to explore, at leisure, one of the first churches in Texas and its beautiful religious artwork preserved by the German noblemen of New Braunfels for over 150 years.  For more information visit our website at www.sppnb.org or call 830/625-4531.

The Wurst Craft Show & Sale in Texas – November 1 & 2 - November 8 & 9/10am-5:30pm - Located on the Main Plaza in the New Braunfels Utilities Parking Lot.  Over 100 vendors selling hand-made arts and crafts including woodworking, stained glass, crochet and knitting items, jewelry, furniture, etc.  Admission is free.  Sponsored by the Comal County Senior Citizen’s Foundation.  For more information call 830/629-4547.

Wurst Ride in Texas – November 8/11am-5pm – Join us for the 6th Annual Wurst Ride, a premier event of the Austin5 Foundation.  Wurst Ride is a 100K and a 50K bicycle ride originating in southeast Austin and finishing at the Comal County Fairgrounds in New Braunfels, Texas.  The Wurst Ride is partnered with the Austin Cycling Association and the Texas Bicycling Coalition.  This year’s ride benefits the Bob Woodruff Family Foundation.  For more information visit our website at www.wurstride.com or call 512/934-3534.

Historic Outdoor Murals- Learn important elements of New Braunfels’ early history through larger than life outdoor murals.  (1)  “City of a Prince”, located at West San Antonio Street and Castell Avenue, highlights German immigration from Europe and the founding of New Braunfels.  (2) “A Tribute to Ferdinand J. Lindheimer” located on the L.A. Hoffmann Building at 165 South Seguin Avenue, showcases the importance of this brilliant man.  Immigrant guide, editor/publisher of the first newspaper, teacher, medicine man, botanist and considered the father of Texas botany.  (3)  “The Lure of the Springs” located on the Landa Park Recreation Building conveys the importance of the Comal Springs and River from prehistoric times to the industrialization of New Braunfels through today.  (4)  “Spass and Gemütlichkeit” located at 148 South Castell along Krause Strasse depicts German fun and fellowship with sausage, beer & wine, and bakery goods all currently in practice today.  The Murals are sponsored by the Historic Outdoor Art Museum/N.B., Inc. and of course are free.  For more information visit our website at www.gnbac.org or call 210/260-1155.

Der Kinderhalle - Entertainment area especially for children ages 5 to 12 located in the Landa Recreation Center directly adjacent to Wurstfest Gate #2.  Features live performers and kid-friendly activities.  See daily Schedule of Events for specific information.  Doors open 30 minutes before show starts.  Reservations are required for “Parents Night Out”.  Call 830/221-4370 for reservations and additional information.  You can also stop by the Wurstfest Information Booth for a registration packet.  Sponsored by the Wurstfest Association and the New Braunfels Parks and Recreation Department.
