The San Antonio Dutchmen Polka band was founded in 1972 and is also known as the San Antonio Combo and S.A. Country. The band plays for weddings, anniversaries, picnics, Oktoberfest, Wurstfest, festivals and public dances all over South Texas, They specialize in South Texas Style German and Czech polkas and waltzes. We all grew up listening to and loving the music played by local South Texas Polka bands. Our band members are all descendants of German immigrants that came to Texas in the 1800’s. They are multi-talented and can play a variety of instruments which gives us ability to provide a variety of arrangements and sounds and also allows us to play some authentic Country and Western music as well. In 1972 the original band consisted of Johnny Schultz on Saxophone, and his parents, Hilbert Schultz on Saxophone and Ruby Schultz on the drums, cousin, Glen Muenchow on accordion, and family friend, E.A. Buckholts on bass guitar.
